Prospective Members

Membership in the Alpha Epsilon Alpha (AEA) chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is open to all TCNJ students interested in literature in English or in the English language. English department majors (including, of course English secondary teaching majors and Journalism and Professional Writing majors) are welcome.  Double majors in English Liberal Arts and and any of the School of Education majors are also eligible.  In addition, we welcome any student with a minor housed in English: English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or Professional Writing, or in a minor shared between English and Modern Languages: Comparative Literature or Linguistics. 

The national organization of STD only accepts into full membership students whose overall GPA places them in the top 35% of their class: at TCNJ, this is an overall GPA of 3.3.  Lastly, students must have taken at least 4 college level courses in English (including courses offered in English and cross-registered in other departments, and appropriate FSP's and 1 (one) college level course taught elsewhere) and have earned a TCNJ GPA of 3.5 in these English courses. *New! English Freshmen Seminars can count towards the 4 English courses*

What do you do if you want to join STD but do not yet have the requisite GPA?  Become a social member!  You cannot apply for national scholarships or awards, but you can be a full member in our local chapter.
